A graduate of Wake Forest University with an MBA from Texas Christian University, David Norman entered golf administration with the Carolinas Golf Association staff. There, he served as assistant director prior to joining RJR/Nabisco’s sports marketing division and its PGA Tour programs from 1988-91. Norman then served as Executive Director of the Virginia State Golf Association 1991-2005. Innovative developments in programs such as “Hook A Kid On Golf”, turfgrass scholarships, individual member services, Virginia Golfer magazine and electronic media grew under his leadership. His efforts were significant in the development of Independence Golf Club.
